SMARK update — 10/26/09
Hey folks,
Sorry for the lack of updates, aside from the random postings that I toss your way. For those of you wondering what we are up to in SMARK-LAND (damn, why didn’t I use THAT title?), we are very busy, both personally and professionally.
The film is being edited as efficiently as possible. I’m using Avid, a program in which I have a somewhat decent proficiency. My fellow grad colleague Trevor has been helping out. The dude’s an editing ace, having interned for NFL Films at one point. I guess the most frustrating thing about Avid is at Emerson, in a school filled with film students and media makers, there are, like, two people who know something about Avid. Mind you, this is a program that is widely considered to become the standard for media editing. ”Hey, I’m not sure how to do (insert function here).” ”Well, in Final Cut, it’s usually this but blah blah blah…” How about I Final Cut my wrists??? Anyways, in other news, I got myself a copy of Final Cut which I intend to learn soon.
We had to set up a few nights of necessary pick-up shots and with that in the bag, I think it is time to move forward and put the candles on this cake of a movie (one that you can’t ever eat). I am guaranteeing a final cut to be done by December 18. I say this because if I don’t, I won’t graduate. A trailer should be up soon, courtesy of Mr. Trevor. We got some great footage and I can’t wait to share it with all of you.
In the meantime, please spread the word about the Facebook fan page and our official blog at http://smarkmovie.tumblr.com. This will probably serve as the official “website” for now. In the future, I’ll get one of them fancy doMAIN names so its easier to remember. But do be on the look out for more content from me in the coming weeks.
